THE WORKSHOP LEADERS
GINA
LAWRIE has a background in psychology, social work and management
development. She works as an independent organization development consultant
for over 20 years in private, public and not-for-profit sectors. She draws
on many approaches, including Gestalt and complexity theory and since
1997 has also been a certified trainer with the Centre for Nonviolent
Communication. In the past Gina taught meditation, the spiritual basis
of NVC, and its integration with practical skills that she most values.
Based in West London, Gina also works in Australasia, Singapore, US and
Denmark.
ABOUT GINA
“My corporate clients and I value Gina's integrity, warmth
and professionalism. At ease even with the most challenging of people,
she connects and inspires.”
— MALCOLM ROBERTS, International Consultant
based in Australia
“Thank you for sharing your skill and perception with us. I have
been experiencing a wonderful sense of space in my life ever since as
choices become apparent where once only duties and obligations seemed
to be.”
— HELEN, Brighton, UK
“When I remember the session we had, I feel very happy, felt support
and comforted, to have more clarity and ease in myself, my head felt certainly
so much more quiet after that.”
— BRIGITTE HASS
AMOLA
HIPWOOD, over the last 10 years, works as a Holistic Therapist
with a background in Bodywork, Psychology, Energetic Healing and Counseling
- dedicated to personal and spiritual growth. AMOLA draws on various approaches
and since 2003 integrates and embraces the spiritual and practical aspects
of Nonviolent Communication in her work. Based in West London, she works
in Europe and India.
ABOUT AMOLA
“I feel very comfortable with Amola because I have complete faith
and trust in her. The first time I met her I felt her warmth and compassion
and that feeling has never left me. The training has been brilliant. It
has helped me cope with dealing with people/situations that in the past
would have left me feeling angry, frustrated and unhappy. I have learnt
new strategies in dealing with people/situations.”
— TERESA BROOME, Teacher London,
UK
“The initial meeting was one of skepticism as this was a new concept,
however Amola helped us to realize how this training would help. Amola’s
ability to put the group at ease and to open up was evident in the fact
that even the quietest of the group was encouraged and able to contribute
a great deal.”
— ANDREA AMBLER, Nandos Distribution,
London UK
“Amola was also able to bring into her own life issues that came
up during the sessions, which was particularly good ‘cause so oftem
the trainer keeps himself or herself ‘external’ to the training,
which I think detracts from the impact; i.e. she modeled working with
her ‘stuff.’ Basically Amola kept it live and in the preset.”
— DRYAN KITCHENER, Karuna Trust, London,
UK

WHAT is NVC?
Nonviolent Communication is a global organization helping people connect
compassionately with themselves and one another through Nonviolent Communication
language, created by Marshall B. Rosenberg, Ph.D.
What is Nonviolent Communication?
Imagine connecting with the human spirit, in each person, in any situation.
Imagine interacting with others in a way that allows everyone's needs
to be equally valued.
Imagine creating organizations and life-serving systems responsive to
our needs and the needs of our environment.
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) helps connect us with what is alive in
ourselves and in others moment-to-moment, with what we or others could
do to make life more wonderful, and with an awareness of what gets in
the way of natural giving and receiving.
NVC language strengthens our ability to inspire compassion from others
and respond compassionately to others and ourselves.
NVC guides us to reframe how we express ourselves, how we hear others
and resolve conflicts by focusing our consciousness on what we are observing,
feeling, needing, and requesting.
Nonviolent Communication language: It awakens empathy and honesty, and
is sometimes described as “the language of the heart.”
