Imagine
Imagine tropical breezes against your skin. Imagine the soothing sounds of rainforest surroundings. Imagine feeling the softness underfoot as you hike lush trails and walk beautiful beaches. Imagine wonderfully healthy food along with unique and comfortable jungle beach accommodations. Imagine all of this enhanced by the daily practice of yoga to open your senses and your heart. If you can imagine all of this, why not make it a reality and come to Costa Rica with Debbie Gilman and Scotty McCaulley for a week of yoga and adventure in the rainforest of the Costa Rican Osa Peninsula.

Retreat
Our retreat center, Guaria de Osa or “Orchid of the Osa”, is nestled in a roadless nature sanctuary known as the “Little Amazon by the Ocean” with plenty of trail hikes, beach and ocean to explore and enjoy. Surrounded by big rainforest trees, the main Lodge is only a 3 minute stroll to the Pacific Beach – unless you stop to smell the Aromatic Ylang Ylang trees and greet the toucans, scarlet macaws and capuchin monkeys. While enjoying these magnificent surroundings, you can have a massage, ride horses, ocean kayak, encounter dolphins -- or simply relax.

Yoga

Scotty McCaulleyScotty has been teaching Iyengar-style yoga for over 6 years. He is a graduate of the Yoga Room Advanced Studies Program located in Berkeley, CA. He is a former psychotherapist and his years of experience bring to his teaching a passionate interest in the mental-emotional health aspects of yoga practice. His classes are laced with humor and a deep commitment to the transformative potentials of yoga. Ultimately, Scotty’s involvement in yoga boils down to “developing humor, compassion and a good heart.”
Debbie GilmanDebbie is also a graduate of the Yoga Room Advanced Studies Program. She has been practicing Iyengar-style yoga for 18 years and teaching for over 8 years. She left a doctoral program at Harvard to become a yoga teacher and has no regrets. She has trained yoga teachers in the Advanced Studies Program at Downtown Yoga in Pleasanton, CA and as a mentor teacher for students in the Yoga Room Advanced Studies Program. She offers her students lots of individual attention and assistance in finding balance and alignment to heal and energize the body.
